Lightroom Edits of Recreation Shoot

This photo is from the style of David Gutierrez. On his website, he has an image of Big Ben in black and white. I tried recreating it. In Lightroom, I made the image black and white and cropped it. I also got rid of some of the clouds in the sky, as in Gutierrez's picture, there are no clouds in the sky, although in my opinion, I do think mine looks nice with the clouds and his looks like he has edited them out.

This is a copy of one of Gutierrez's photos. When I took this, I thought I was in the correct place, however later I discovered he must have taken it from another area with a pond because his image is further away than mine is. I tried to edit the photo so that the redness of the bricks would stand out more. I made the rest of the image darker as David's original photo was taken at night. I think my replica is good because the clouds give the bridge an eerie and gothic feel. I also like how I've got the Shard in the background as well, so it shows two iconic buildings in London. I don't think the Shard was built when Gutierrez took his photo, as it is not in his image. I do think that I should have got the reflection of the bridge better, as that was one of the main things David focused on.

Gutierrez uses a lot of reflection in his images and  so I chose to do this with St Paul's. While I was taking this photo, I tried to get the reflection to join the actual St Paul's, but by the time I took this image (my final one), I was right up against the glass building. I cropped this image and made it black and white. I also used the adjustment brush to increase the clarity of St Paul's in the reflection.
